Managing Your Flock in Cult of the Lamb
Running a successful cult isn't just about purging heretics; it's a delicate balancing act of resource management. Your followers are entirely dependent on you for their basic needs. If you neglect them while on a crusade, you will return to a base filled with starvation, sickness, and Dissenters actively trying to tear down your shrine.
The Hunger Economy
Every follower consumes a set amount of Satiety (Hunger) per day. If you have 20 followers, you cannot simply feed them 20 Basic Berry Bowls and expect them to stay full for long. Different meals restore different percentages of the hunger meter.
- Basic Meals (Berry Bowl): Restores ~25% Satiety. You need multiple per follower.
- Advanced Meals (Meat Broth): Restores ~50% Satiety.
- Premium Meals (Magnificent Feast): Restores 100% Satiety and boosts Faith.
Our calculator determines exactly how many of your selected meals you need to cook right now to bring your entire cult's Satiety back to 100%.
Devotion Generation & Follower Levels
Devotion is the currency used to unlock Divine Inspiration upgrades (new buildings). The rate at which Devotion is generated at the Shrine is directly tied to the Level of the followers praying there. A Level 1 follower generates Devotion slowly, while a Level 10 follower generates it rapidly. Always prioritize delivering Sermons and blessing your followers to increase their loyalty level, as this dramatically accelerates your base building progression.
Why are my followers dissenting?
Dissent occurs when your overall Faith drops too low (typically below 25%) for an extended period. Faith drops naturally over time, but plummets if followers starve, die, or if you fail quests. You must perform Rituals or Sermons to raise Faith back to safe levels, or place the Dissenter in a Prison to re-educate them.
Can I leave my cult to go crusading?
Yes, but time continues to pass. Before embarking on a long crusade, you should ensure Satiety is at 100% and Faith is near maximum. Building a Farming Station and a Kitchen allows your followers to auto-feed themselves somewhat, buying you more time in the dungeons.
