Zombs Royale Player's Handbook

Winning in Zombs Royale requires more than just good looting RNG; it requires a mathematical understanding of the weapon meta. Because health and shield values are fixed, knowing exactly how many bullets it takes to drop an opponent dictates whether you should push a fight or heal up.

"A weapon's rarity is important, but its Time-To-Kill (TTK) is what actually wins the duel. A Rare SMG in close quarters will consistently out-damage a Legendary Assault Rifle."

The TTK (Time-To-Kill) Meta

TTK is the most crucial metric in any top-down shooter. It represents the absolute minimum amount of time required to deplete an enemy's health pool, assuming you hit every shot. Because the first shot is instantaneous, TTK is calculated as: (Shots to Kill - 1) × Fire Rate.

If you are wielding an AWP Sniper and hit a player with 100 HP and 0 Shield, the Shots to Kill is 1. Because no follow-up shot is needed, the TTK is technically 0.00 seconds—an instant kill.

Shield Breaking Math

In the late game, you must assume every opponent has exactly 200 effective HP (100 Health + 100 Shield). Weapons like the Vector have incredibly fast fire rates but low damage per hit (9 Dmg). Against a 200 HP target, the Vector requires 23 connected bullets. If your tracking isn't perfect, you will run out of magazine space before the enemy dies. This makes high-damage, burst weapons like the Pump Shotgun essential for breaking shields instantly before swapping to an AR to finish the kill.

Weapon Rarities Explained

While an Epic weapon is generally better than a Rare weapon, it only provides slight incremental upgrades to Damage and Reload Speed. The fundamental Fire Rate usually remains identical. Do not drop an M4 that you are comfortable aiming with just to pick up a Legendary SCAR if you struggle with the SCAR's bullet velocity.

Are there headshots in Zombs Royale?

No. Due to the 2D top-down perspective, hitboxes are uniform circles. Hitting a player in the "head" deals the exact same damage as hitting them on the edge of their hitbox.

Why does shotgun damage fluctuate?

Shotguns fire a spread of multiple pellets. The "Damage Per Hit" listed in the calculator assumes a perfect, point-blank shot where every single pellet connects with the enemy hitbox. At range, damage drops severely.
