Overview
The WoW Gear Score Calculator helps World of Warcraft players assess their gear's overall strength using a gear score system inspired by popular WOTLK addons. Enter the item level (ilvl) for each gear slot to calculate your gear score and average ilvl. The calculator accounts for slot weights (e.g., chest has higher weight than trinkets) and weapon types (one-handed vs. two-handed). Note: This tool uses item levels only and does not factor in enchantments or gems.
How to Use
- Enter the item level for each gear slot in the corresponding fields.
- For the main hand weapon, select whether it is one-handed or two-handed.
- Click "Calculate Gear Score" to see your total gear score and average item level.
- Use the "Random Gear" button to generate random item levels for testing.
- Click "Reset" to clear all fields and start over.
Tips
- Prioritize High-Weight Slots: Focus on upgrading chest, legs, and weapons first, as they contribute more to your gear score.
- Weapon Upgrades: Two-handed weapons have a higher weight; consider their impact when dual-wielding or using an off-hand.
- Balance Gear Levels: Aim for consistent item levels across slots to maximize your average ilvl.
- Check Raid Requirements: Many raids have gear score minimums; use this tool to ensure you meet them.
- Experiment with Random Gear: Use the "Random Gear" button to simulate different gear sets and see how they affect your score.
Note: Gear score is a simplified metric and does not account for item stats, set bonuses, or player skill. Use it as a general guide, not an absolute measure of performance.
