Mastering Soulstone Survivors Math

Soulstone Survivors is a game entirely about exponential synergy. Taking the right upgrades at the right time transforms your build from struggling against standard elites to instantly melting high-curse Lords of the Void. Understanding how the four pillars of DPS scale is essential.

Cast Frequency & Attacks Per Second

Unlike raw cooldown reduction in other games, Cast Frequency scales your Attacks Per Second (APS) linearly. The formula is: Base Cooldown ÷ (1 + Cast Frequency%). If you have a skill with a 2.0s cooldown and gain +100% Cast Frequency, the cooldown becomes 1.0s (double the APS). Adding another +100% (total 200%) drops it to 0.66s (triple the APS). It never stops being valuable.

The Power of Multi-cast:
Multi-cast acts as a pure, separate multiplier to your DPS. If your skill hits for 100 damage and casts 1 time per second, your DPS is 100. If you reach 150% Multi-cast, your skill will ALWAYS cast twice, and has a 50% chance to cast a third time. Your average casts jump to 2.5 per second, skyrocketing your DPS to 250 without altering your damage or cooldown stats.

Critical Hits & Diminishing Returns

Damage modifier (%) is additive. Going from 0% to 100% Damage doubles your output. But going from 400% to 500% only represents a 20% relative DPS increase. Because of this, once your Damage modifier is stacked high, Critical Chance and Critical Damage become the most potent ways to increase your hit severity. A 100% Crit Chance with a 300% Crit Damage multiplier will multiply your final hit numbers by 3x across the board.

Can Critical Chance go over 100%?

Yes. If your Critical Chance exceeds 100%, the excess percentage acts as a chance to score a "Red Crit" (or higher tier crit), which applies your Critical Damage multiplier an additional time, resulting in astronomical damage numbers on late-cycle runs.

Should I focus on Multi-cast or Cast Frequency?

Ideally, both! They multiply each other. However, Cast Frequency has the added benefit of making your skill feel more responsive and fluid. Multi-cast is superior for burst damage and rapidly applying status effects like Doom, Bleed, or Burn.
