Naraka: Bladepoint Combat Math

In Naraka: Bladepoint, understanding the damage pipeline is the key to winning duels. Unlike games where armor heavily mitigates damage via complex formulas, Naraka uses a much simpler, highly transparent system: Armor acts as pure Health, and Souljades act as pure Percentage Modifiers.

How Damage is Calculated

Every strike in the game goes through a strict sequence of multipliers. By combining these, you can calculate the exact damage number you see pop up on your screen.

The Damage Formula:
Raw Damage = (Weapon Base) × (Rarity Multiplier) × (Move Multiplier) × (1 + Melee Attack %)
Final Damage = Raw Damage × (1 - Melee Resist %)

Example: A Blue Longsword (100 Base × 1.2 Rarity = 120) hitting a Focus Attack (× 1.8) with 10% Attack Souljades deals 237 Raw Damage.

Armor Tiers as Health Pools

Your base character always has 1000 Health. Finding higher-tier armor does not reduce the damage you take; it simply adds more segments (HP) to your total pool. Each segment of armor equals 250 HP.

  • Common (White): 1 Segment (+250 HP) = 1250 Total EHP
  • Rare (Blue): 2 Segments (+500 HP) = 1500 Total EHP
  • Epic (Purple): 3 Segments (+750 HP) = 1750 Total EHP
  • Legendary (Gold): 4 Segments (+1000 HP) = 2000 Total EHP
Do Souljade caps apply to specific weapons?

No. "Melee Attack" and "Melee Resist" apply universally to all melee weapons. However, if you equip a weapon-specific Souljade (like Longsword Sap), the unique effect does not count toward the standard percentage cap.

Why did I get one-shot?

If your opponent parries your Focus attack, they execute a Counterstrike. Counterstrikes carry a massive Move Multiplier (often 3.0x or higher). Combined with a Gold weapon and max Attack Souljades, a Counterstrike can deal over 1000 damage instantly, obliterating your armor and health in a single animation.
