Minecraft TPS Calculator

Diagnose server lag and calculate real-world timings with one simple tool.

Get this from the in-game /tps or /spark tps command.

About This TPS Tool

Ticks Per Second (TPS) is the heartbeat of a Minecraft server. A healthy server runs at a consistent 20 TPS, meaning game logic updates happen 20 times every second. When TPS drops, you experience "server lag"—blocks reappear after being broken, mobs teleport, and redstone timings fail. This tool is designed for players and server admins to quickly diagnose server health and understand the real-world impact of lag. Unlike other calculators, this hub allows you to not only check your TPS but also calculate how long a specific number of game ticks (like for a farm or circuit) will actually take on a lagging server.

How to Use

  1. Get Your MSPT: In-game, run a command like /tps, /forge tps, or /spark tps. Look for a value called "Mean tick time," "Tick time," or "MSPT."
  2. TPS Calculator: Select the "TPS Calculator" tab and enter your MSPT value. The gauge will instantly show your server's current TPS and health.
  3. Tick Time Calculator: To find the real-world time for a contraption, select the "Tick Time Calculator" tab. Enter your server's current TPS and the number of game ticks you want to measure.
