Melvor Idle Safety Calc
Don't lose your Hardcore character. Check your AFK safety.
How to Survive Idle Combat in Melvor Idle
In Melvor Idle, combat continues even when you close the game. This is great for progression but deadly if miscalculated. The "Golden Rule of Safety" is simple: The enemy's maximum possible hit must be lower than your Auto Eat threshold. If it is higher, you risk dying in the split second before your character eats food.
๐ก Hardcore Mode Warning
If you are playing Hardcore mode, death is permanent. Always calculate your safety with the Disadvantage combat triangle selected (1.25x damage) just to be absolutely sure, even if you plan to use the correct style. Lag or gear swapping mistakes happen.
Understanding Auto Eat Tiers
Your ability to AFK depends entirely on your Auto Eat upgrade level, purchasable in the shop:
- Auto Eat I: Triggers when HP drops below 20%. This is very risky for mid-game dungeons.
- Auto Eat II: Triggers at 30% HP.
- Auto Eat III: Triggers at 40% HP. This is the standard for endgame PvM (God Dungeons, Into the Mist).
Note: Auto Eat efficiency (how much you heal) does not affect safety, only how much food you consume. Only the trigger threshold matters for survival.
The Combat Triangle Factor
Melvor uses a Rock-Paper-Scissors system that drastically affects damage taken:
- Melee beats Ranged (You take less dmg).
- Ranged beats Magic (You take less dmg).
- Magic beats Melee (You take less dmg).
However, if you fight with a Disadvantage (e.g., Melee against Magic), the enemy deals 25% more damage. This creates dangerous spikes that can one-shot you through Auto Eat.
