LiPo Battery Safe Charge Current Calculator
About
LiPo (Lithium Polymer) batteries are widely used in drones and RC aircraft due to their high energy density. This calculator helps determine safe charge currents (1C or 2C rates), estimated charge time, and battery watt-hours based on capacity and cell count. It ensures safe charging practices to prolong battery life and prevent damage.
How to Use
- Enter the battery capacity in mAh (e.g., 2200).
- Select the cell count (1S to 6S).
- Choose a charge rate (1C, 2C, or custom).
- If custom, enter the desired charge current in amps.
- Click "Calculate" to see safe charge currents, charge time, and watt-hours.
- Click "Export Results" to download the output as a text file.
Tips
- Use 1C charging for longer battery lifespan; 2C is faster but may reduce cycles.
- Always use a balance charger to ensure even cell charging.
- Charge LiPo batteries in a fireproof bag or container for safety.
- Check battery voltage before charging; do not charge if below 3.0V per cell.
- Store LiPo batteries at 3.8V per cell for long-term storage.
