Many players are afraid to dodge lobbies because they lose -3 LP or -10 LP. This is a mistake. LP is cosmetic. MMR is real.
When you dodge a game, you lose LP, but your MMR (Matchmaking Rating) stays exactly the same. When you play a losing game, you lose both LP and MMR. Losing MMR is disastrous because it reduces your LP gains in future wins.

The Dodge penalty tier resets 12 hours after your last dodge. If you dodge twice in a row, you hit the -10 LP / 30-minute lockout tier. It is usually mathematically correct to dodge once per day (-3 LP).
